Take a nice-looking big eggplant and slice it. The thickness of the steak is about 2.5-3 cm.
First bake the eggplant for 15 minutes at 250 C (480 F), then 10 minutes at 100 C (200 F). Add some stewed mushrooms with cream and top it all with your fave cheese.
- Ingredients for cooking an eggplant steak:
- Eggplant of any large variety - 1
- Olive oil - 50 ml
- Soy sauce - 50 ml
- Smoked paprika - 1 tsp
- Pepper mixture - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Mushrooms - 500 gr
- Cream 33% - 200 ml
- Cheese (we tried maasdam) - 100 gr

Hello guys! Today we will cook a simple, yet a delicious dish – an eggplant steak. First you take a big eggplant, slice it thick (approximately 3 cm wide). Now let’s add some olive oil, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt and other pepper mixture you like. Mix everything well, so that all the slices are covered evenly. Then our beautiful eggplant slices travel to sunbathe in the oven. First you bake it for 15 min at 250 С (480 F), then reduce it to 100 С (200 F) and bake for another 10 minutes.
You need to fry coarsely chopped mushrooms separately, add some salt, black pepper and some cream. Let the mushrooms and cream stew for a while.
Meanwhile the eggplant steak is ready. Add some mushrooms (champignons would taste great here) and decorate everything with a slice of cheese you prefer at the top. A bit of dried peppermint would be the icing on the cake. Enjoy it!
