"Knitted" cakes by Lauren Wodnicki

There are no limits when it comes to imagination, and a great example of this is Lauren Wodnicki, a pastry chef from Southampton, Connecticut, USA, who creates cakes that look like piles of hand-embroidered pillows or shag rugs.

Her cakes are interesting to look at, and some of them are so realistic that you don’t immediately understand it at first glance.

Lauren has been baking cakes and making desserts for a long time, but she only started decorating them about 10 years ago. She used to make regular icing cakes, focusing only on flavor and perfecting her recipes. And when she was planning her wedding cake, she decided to make it not only delicious, but also beautifully decorated and made them multi-tiered.

The cake turned out to be 4-tiered, and at that time it was a great achievement for her. Since then, Lauren continues to improve her skills and delight fans of her talent with new sweet masterpieces.
